LAKSHMI BAI »the order: 1886 shri dear diary, it turns out her name isn't really rani, it's lakshmi bai. or lakshmi, and "bai" is like saying "ma'am" on top of it. rani just means something like queen or lady, i guess. it fits her, though. if you saw her, you'd know what i mean. the way she stands, you can tell she knows how to order people around...but she's nice about it. maybe it's because she's a fighter. she looks older now that she's back. i don't know if i'm going to ask her why. she didn't even tell me her name before, i think she has secrets she wants to keep. BYERLY VORRUTYER »the vorkosigan saga vorrutyer dear diary, i still don't get byerly. he's not really being a creep anymore, but he's still lying about being drunk all the time, and i don't know why. he's actually kind of fun to talk to if you forget about the way he turns it on and off, but something always reminds you. i never would have guessed he could sing or play the violin, but he's really good. it's the only thing i know he isn't lying about. WASHINGTON »red vs. blue protocol dear diary, spent all day in the sickbay tent again. wash was there, the one i introduced to moonfire. i think he'd probably be there 24/7 if somebody let him. he just goes and goes and doesn't stop, unless he's telling me i should take a break. he's not a hypocrite about it, though, just a nice guy. the kind of soldier you picture when you talk about supporting the troops. i wish i could tell him about home, he's a good listener.
